Go Wall Gallery...or Go Home (and Do a Wall Gallery)

Hello... I think I hear crickets cherping!!! Ahhh, its been so long but I'm hoping this little blog wont give up on me just yet. Anywho, if there's anyone out there reading this, I hope it finds you well.

Today I'm overwhelmed in very good way with what has been on my mind, as of lately. Wall galleries, are they overwhelming or overwhelmingly GOOD? My husband says they are too much, but of course, I beg to differ.  Nothing is too much when your talking about design. Go big or go home, or you could go big at home, I'm starting with my twin boys' room. Tell me what you think?

There you have it, wall galleries, too much or too awesome? For me, I love the impact and how intresting they look. The two boys are in the basement and I feel that basements are often times so blah and boring so it could use this kind of treatment. I've started on one wall and decided I can't get enough of how it turned out and that I need to continue it through to the next wall, its a big one but who doesnt have tons of frames lying around and with time you can collect and personalize it with things that really tell a story about who they are.

Until next time have a happy Thursday!

It's Time

Hello there, no I haven't quit this blog! I've been doing some planning and of course some changing! I don't know what it is that makes me so nervous to do this post, maybe it's that this is the time to show you what I've done and some might hate it but some might love it to. You don't know until you do it, right

Ok so I moved into this house and already I've painted about everything twice! I know what you're thinking, that's nuts! This is me, I'm obsessed with getting it just right for us.

These are some photos of my daughter's room, it's still in progress but so you can finally start following me and my craziness. The inspiration for her room came from her rug that I got when she first graduated into a big girl bed, and also what motivated me to do the change to the whole room was some cheap block print fabric I got off of eBay. Remember my post on wanting to paint something coral, we'll I hope I didn't disappoint. I couldn't get myself to do such a saturated color so I went with a seashell (a lighter coral). My husband and Lily helped with the decision :).  I wanted to add a bit more sophistication to her room but nothing too stuffy. It's a little bohemian which is really what draws me into a room, the mix of patterns and colors, the unexpected elements, and gold accents. I want her feel the love when it's completed. Like I said it's in progress but you get the idea. I still need her pillows cases to be sewn and a bed skirt, a photo gallery, closet doors off,  and the chandelier above our dining room table will replace her, not so easy on the eyes, fan.

Until next time friends, have a wonderful Tuesday! Off to do some more work i'll tell you about real soon! :)

GETTIN' BACK IN THE SADDLE

Wow guys, I'm sorry for being away for so long! Those of you who know me, know that I'm ALWAYS working on some kind of home project, this time it's my curtains, amongst others. I love to decorate my home and it's been a dream of mine to pursue this passion.  I got these plain old boring curtains last summer, and now I've decided to add some pattern by stenciling them. There are six panels, two of them are 98 and four are 108 inches. It's been really time consuming but I knew what I would be gettin' into before I started. I just thought what the heck, if I giddyap I can round'em up and check off this project in no time. Here's a sneak peak, let me know what you think.

My little girl is turning 4 in 2 weeks, and she's a complete cowgirl Sally! One day, she told me that when she got bigger, she wanted to be a cowgirl and that when I got bigger, I would be her horse. How funny and adorable is that?

My sweet girl!
Yeehaw pretty lady

Well this just took me back to a dream I have for her and myself, to someday have a couple of horses and to teach her some ridin' (sorry, I can't get enough of the cowgirl accent). For now, I think I'll keep that little dream of hers burning, and get her this cute little Melissa and Doug wood horse stable that I found online and horses to go with it. Cute, right?

Meanwhile I'll keep ridin' my dreams, because when I look at my daughter I want to see her passions and dreams alive also! After all, dreams can come true!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I hope all of you had a happy Mothers day, especially my amazing and gorgeous mother! I could not have asked for a better day spent with her and my little family...

All that I am and hope to be I owe to my mother.

For my three children, you are the true meaning of love.

I always read my babes Nancy Tillman's Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You. This is exactly the book I want them to pull out if ever they feel far from me. The one thing I want to accomplish, as a mother, is to let them feel so unconditionally loved that they will sense they are always close to my heart. I want them to know my love will be all around them, wherever they may go.

You should really check this book out.  First time I read it I was uncontrollably sobbing. It was after I brought the twins home and I was reading it to them.  It still gets me every time, although, It doesn't take much to get it out of me. It's a book of unconditional love, a mother's love.

WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

I am absolutely OBSESSED with ice cream colors aka pastels! From the nails to the walls and everything in between, I'm  screaming for more and much like my kiddos I can't get enough of the yummy cool sweetness of ice cream (color)...So lets dish it out (Lily loves that this is literal, she got a scoop of her classic vanilla with sprinkles on top)!

What are your thoughts? Do you love it or hate it?

SUNDAY'S BEST

I had an incredible weekend. My cousin came to visit, I went shopping with my baby sister and one of my greatest friends from WSU, and last but definately not least, I spent Sunday with the family, the Jewison way!

It was a colorful weekend spend with lots of wonderful people! Friday I worked all day trying to get my blog up and running, I am so not techno savvy, something I've always admired but have had no patience for! I put that aside and tackled the task anyway, I guess my risk-taking attributes do conquer all. Thankfully my cousin Margaret came in to save the day, I told her I needed help with editing and broadening my vocabulary, since mine is very small these days with an almost 4 year old and twin 1 year olds. Well anyone who knows her knows shes perfect for the job!

Then saturday, my amazing husband sweetly agreed that I needed some adult time away from the kids. He willingly took the job as Mr. Mom for the day! Although it's always so hard to leave them I knew I needed to. So I ventured on up to the cities to have some fun! Like my little Lily says, Ohhhh Yaaa (got it from Briggy)! We had such a good time! We ate at The Cheesecake Factory and shopped til we dropped! Boy have I got a lot of catching up to do to make up for lost times with my dear firends who have been there throughout all life's craziness! Thanks girls, you know who you areand ironically, i've talked to most of them this weekend, that rarely happens in a month's time!

Speaking of rare ocassions, we made it to church today! Wow, what a great weekend, I always feel that church tops it off.  It makes me realize that I need to reflect on what's important in life. We can't do anything unless we've had some good eatin'! The Jewison tradition is to follow up church at the China Buffet or the Pizza Ranch (we don't mess around), then we wait for someone to kick us out! I love Sundays with the family!

So now I look back on my weekend and think to myself, how colorless would my life be without those things that make life so vibrant and full. I'm excited for this ride I've decided to climb aboard. It's called life~ living every moment as if it were your last!

To all my family and friends, thank you and to the ones who are not here with us today, this is for you,  because I don't want to regret a single moment God has given me.

What did you do this weekend? What are your favorite things about life?

LOVELY LIFE, SIMPLY VIDA...

First off, I am just realizing at 26 years of age that I am a product of my makers, there's no escaping it, surrounding myself with beautiful things runs through my veins. My dad is the best and he builds everything to perfection and my beautiful mother, another perfectionist, loves to decorate and reinvent her habitat. So when you put the two together you get an obsessed, wannabe decorator.

Now that I have my own beautiful family, I am falling back to my roots and realizing it's everything that I've ever known. I love life and all the beautiful things it has to offer. I want my kids and husband to be surrounded by the beauty of love. Love is what makes a house a home. Love is cozy and warm and safe.

Love is made to be simple, this is a blog about...Simply Life.
